How to Incorporate Spirituality in your Childrens daily Life

I am a mother of two boys and have always felt that making sure that they have a  strong belief in God was very important. I find myself often observing that many Religious Family traditions have fallen to the way side in this busy world today due to time constraints. In many house holds both parents must work in order to keep food on the table. Many times families do not attend regular church services or send their children to Sunday school to learn the importance of the Bible and God. I feel that children are very impressionable and the values and traditions that we pass on in our daily life will remain with them forever. I feel that with out the presence of God in a child's life they may go down a wrong path and have a troubled life. With out the knowledge of God there is no sense of right or wrong, Good or Evil. There is no sorrow or guilt when doing some thing wrong other than the form of punishment.
Although we live busy lives we must remember to take time to honor God daily. He must have a place in our homes and in our Hearts.

One of the ways we can help teach children to Honor God our Father is by saying daily grace prior to meals.  Another way is to say good night prayers as these are traditions that will be passed along from one generation to another.
In my home since my boys were young I have always had prayer candles. I keep them on hand at all time and have asked my boys as teens to please pray and light them. The presence of these candles brings a sense of hope and faith.
Holy Water and Holy oil is another great way to bless your children prior to saying good night prayers. You can give each of your children their own bottle for night prayers. This is a gift and practice that makes them feel safe and feel the presence of God prior to falling asleep.
You can also bless your children or loved ones when they are sick. This teaches them that with prayer and God's help they can be healed as it says in the Bible.

I have always surrounded my home with Religious Statues, Crucifix, and Religious prints. It is a constant reminder of the importance of God in our daily lives. Even as we are busy we will see Jesus or Mary's loving face and it is a reminder that they are always with us and how we should live our lives trying to honor them both.
Young children and teens need to know that when life becomes difficult or times are trying that God is the one to turn to instead of using drugs and alcohol as and escape.
We all need love, we all need hope and most of all we need to know that with God any thing is possible.
